Dr. Reuel Khoza is a distinguished thought leader, businessman, and President of the Institute of Directors in South Africa (IoDSA). A dedicated Africanist, public speaker, and change agent, he has played a pivotal role in the transformation of South Africa’s political economy and is widely regarded as a model citizen in advancing the national interest.
Reuel is currently chairman of Dzana Investments (Pty) Ltd. and AKA Capital (Pty) Ltd. He previously served as chairman of Nedbank Group Limited, Globeleq, Eskom Holdings, and GlaxoSmithKline South Africa. Additionally, he has held directorships at JSE Limited, IBM South Africa, Liberty Life Group, Standard Bank Group, Nampak Limited, and Old Mutual plc.
A key figure in corporate governance, Reuel contributed to the development of the King Codes on Corporate Governance (King II, III, and IV), serving as Mervyn King’s deputy for King III and King IV.
Reuel is emeritus professor extraordinaire at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and a visiting professor at Rhodes Business School, the University of the Free State Business School, and Wits Business School. He is also chancellor of the University of Limpopo.
An accomplished author, his books include Attuned Leadership, Let Africa Lead, The African in My Dream, and The Power of Governance (co-authored with Mohamed Adam).
Beyond business and academia, Reuel is also involved in farming, packing, and exporting avocado pears and is passionate about writing lyrics and producing music as a creative pursuit.
