Mark Brits is the Head of the Prudential Regulatory Division at The Banking Association South Africa. He has been with the association since 2003, playing a key role in regulatory matters affecting the banking sector.

Prior to this, he spent seven years as Vice President and Head of Money Markets in the Treasury division at ING Barings South Africa. In addition to his role at The Banking Association, Mark serves as a director of the National Research Foundation, a state-owned entity dedicated to promoting scientific research through funding, human capital development, and infrastructure maintenance.
